Annual General Meeting Wednesday, March 27, 2024

Each year we hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM). This meeting is a great opportunity to connect with other members and your OMISTA team, as well as hear about the previous year and future plans.

The 2023 financial results and proposed article and by-law changes will be reviewed. There are also three Director nominees who will be elected by acclamation to OMISTA’s Board at the March 27 Annual General Meeting.

Meet our Nominees

Rayanne Brennan Rayanne Brennan

Rayanne is a passionate co-operator with a deep understanding and appreciation for the goals of credit unions. Current secretary of the board of Omista Credit Union, she is past president of the Co-operative Enterprise Council of New Brunswick (and the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick) and took part in missions with the Co-operative Development Fund to Nicaragua and Uganda.
Rayanne was manager of Atlantic Publishing Co-operative and editor of The Canadian Co-operator before she joined Medavie as a senior marketing and content strategist. As a director, she will drawn on her extensive background in business management, board governance, marketing and communications to help effect positive change for the Omista Credit Union.

Pat Duffield Patricia Duffield

Pat Duffield CCD, previously served on OMISTA’s Board of Directors. During this time, she served on all the Board Committees. She also served as the Secretary, Vice-Chair and Chair.
Pat was elected to the Atlantic Central Board and served as Chair for the past 7 years. 
She believes in the Credit Union movement, their principles, and values.  She believes OMISTA consistently remains focused on how to best serve the interest of members.
Retired from the School District, Pat can commit a great deal of time and energy to OMISTA. 
As Chair of Atlantic Central she has gained considerable insight into the regional and national Credit Union system and the trends which will be necessary to reach for future success.

Jack Low Jack Low

Jack Low, since retiring as a partner of KPMG, has concentrated on working for and on various Boards of Directors.  He currently serves as Chair of Omista and Vice-Chair and Audit Committee Chair of SEmutual Insurance.  He holds FCPA, ICD.d and ACCUD designations.  He specializes in strategic planning, governance, auditing, and understanding financial statements.  As Board Chair, Jack prides himself on communicating and sharing information, addressing issues, and planning next steps appropriate to Omista, the Board of directors and senior management.  He is focused on opportunities to enhance operations and improve members’ equity.

Sean Green Sean Greene

Sean is currently a partner at Thiel Greene Chartered Professional Accountants in Moncton, and has over 20 years of experience in public accounting. He leads his team in providing accounting, assurance, taxation, and general advisory services to small and medium sized owner managed businesses, as well as a significant number of not-for-profit organizations. He is active in his community, and currently serves as President of the Moncton Rotary Club as well as being active in youth sports as a coach and manager, and past-president of Baseball Dieppe. Sean lives in Dieppe with his wife and three sons.

Peter Kinney Peter Kinney

Peter Kinney is a highly motivated, results oriented, accomplished business executive. After 12 years with Kent Homes, he is now the General Manager of waterworks pools and Spas and President of Westmorland Capital Partners. Westmorland currently owns Unique Diesel solutions and is actively looking for more opportunities. I am a believer in lifelong learning and am currently looking to pursue my MBA. 

I’m a lifelong Moncton resident and when not working, I can be found in my garage restoring antique tractors, at my camper at Gagnon Beach in Cape-ele, checking out local concert or sporting events with friends or spending time with my other half Janine and my family.

Keten Raval Ketan Raval

Ketan Raval,founder of Moncton Cares,his leadership has seen the organization welcome over 2,500 newcomers at the airport, engage more than 400 newcomers learned camping,Remarkably, Moncton Cares has provided language training to 700 individuals and pre-arrival sessions to 600+ people. Overall 10000 newcomers were helped directly through variety of community services provided by Moncton Cares. 
Ketan is a tech entrepreneur and runs a technology company in Greater Moncton Area. And also seats on various boards and committees in Greater Moncton Area.
His work has earned him Moncton top 20 under 40, Chamber of commerce awards and New Brunswick Multicultural council’s “Champion of Diversity.

Roxanne Reeves Roxanne Reeves

Award-winning researcher. Multi-published author. Ph.D. scholarship is one of 17 recognized by the International Mentoring Association. Master's work on Canadian economic history and public policy earned a Labour History Travail New Brunswick (LHTNB) fellowship.
Career of building diverse and high-value relationships across government, private industry, family-run businesses, and academic institutions. Notably, has presented research on the intersection of immigrant newcomers, entrepreneurship, and mentorship to Senate of Canada, Twenty-year track record not-for-profit executive and governance experience. Collaborative approach to decision-making.
Finds inspiration in artistic pursuits, stained glass artistry and rural upbringing. Rooted in childhood as a farm girl and attending a two-room schoolhouse remains grounded and committed to making meaningful contributions.
Roxanne, her husband, Shawn Graham, and two orange kitties, Buster Brown, aptly named, and Leroy Brown, divide time between the County of Mundleville and Fredericton.

Steve Smallwood Steve Smallwood

Born and raised in Fredericton, NB I moved to Guelph, ON to attend University of Guelph.  Upon completion of my BSc Agriculture, I was hired by The Co-operators where I was employed for 40 years until my retirement on Dec 31, 2002.  I have held numerous roles and while working I attained my Associate in the Insurance Institute and my Certified General Accountant designations.   As a District Manager for Co-operators I led sales teams, recruited, managed and was required to produce profitable results. While in Guelph I was a Big Brother for several years. In Moncton I have Captained Co-operators teams to raise funds for Youth Impact.
I am very excited to explore this opportunity.
